WHO WE ARE

Cheer New York is a certified 501(c)3 nonprofit organization consisted of a diverse and inclusive team of all-volunteer LGBTQIA2S+ members and ally cheerleaders and a proud member of the Pride Cheerleading Association (PCA). Our mission is to use our performance skills to promote change and drive equality through charitable action and community engagement.
Since Cheer New York was founded in 2001, we have been proactively engaging with the LGBTQIA2S+ community in the Tri-State Area and beyond by cultivating a safe, inclusive space where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to express themselves freely; and by raising money for local LGBTQ+ charities through our New York Spirit Fund.
Cheer New York is proud to support G.L.I.T.S as the 2025 beneficiary of our New York Spirit Fund. G.L.I.T.S is a Black trans-led advocacy and direct services organization fighting systemic discrimination against marginalized communities, in New York City and beyond. PRIDE CHEERLEADING ASSOCIATION (PCA)
Cheer New York is a proud member of the Pride Cheerleading Association (PCA). PCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organized as an affiliation of Member Teams that raise spirits, awareness, and funds for LGBTQ+ causes in their respective communities. Our nationwide volunteer base consists of over 500 LGBTQ+ and ally “volunCHEERleaders” whose performances and philanthropy have driven over $1.4 million in donations to date.
The Pride Cheerleading Association is currently comprised of 15 official Member Teams located across the country: Cheer New York, CHEER San Francisco, Cheer Los Angeles, Chicago Spirit Brigade, Cheer Salt Lake, CHEER Seattle, Cheer DC, CHEER Tacoma, CHEER Colorado, Cheer Austin, Cheer Portland, Cheer Philadelphia, Sacramento Cheer Elite, Cheer Miami, and Windy City Cheer
The Pride Cheerleading Association (PCA) advances charitable cheerleading globally by creating community, developing resources, and spreading cheer in pursuit of equity for every individual in LGBTQ+ spaces and beyond. The PCA Delegation offers representation to each Member Team and acts as a support network to share resources, experiences, and innovations among established and developing LGBTQ community-based cheer teams.
PCA also serves as an association under which all such cheer teams may assemble during the quadrennial GAY GAMES (international, LGBTQ+ sport and cultural event) and other multi-team performance and fundraising events.
